Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Pipe Band was invited to play at this year’s annual Manchester Day Parade which took place on Sunday 10th June 2012; an event that celebrates all the things that make Manchester great.
The theme of this year’s parade was 'The Sky is the limit: A celebration of heroic achievements’ and 2500 participants from all over the city contributed, which recognised some of the city's accomplishments over the years. The parade featured a giant air hostess, a superhero baby, and giant winged creatures amongst others.
Up to 80,000 people lined the streets of Manchester for the city's annual parade, the city council estimated. One of the real highlights was to see tens of thousands of children and young people out on the streets with their families enjoying the spectacle it instills a real sense of pride in the city.
What’s more is that the ever-excelling performances of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Pipe Band further enhanced the elation of the procession delivering exceptional musical pieces that made the parade even more jovial and festive. Amongst this, other artists from across the North-West helped community groups to create artworks that embodied the city's spirit and residents.
