On 27th June 2009 Acharya Swamishree, sants and disciples held a sports day in a large park in Bolton town centre.

The day started with His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree, sants and disciples being welcomed into the sports ground by members of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Dhol Academy – Bolton. Before commencement of the day’s activities, participants performed aarti to Acharya Swamishree as he gave darshan seated on a hindola. They then received His blessings for success in the competitions of the day.

Through the day, Acharya Swamishree, sants and disciples took part in a range of activities within the sports ground with events including sprint running, the sack race, a wheel barrow race, tug of war and cricket; and more fun activities such as mechanical bull-riding, sweet eating and water-balloon fights. At the conclusion of the events, winners were presented with medals.

With the divine grace of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, the weather throughout the day was pleasant and dry and a fun, entertaining time was enjoyed by all.
