Diwali, New Year & Chopda Poojan in Bolton

 

The word Diwali is derived from the Sanskrit word Deepavali which means a row of lights. For this reason, the Diwali festival is sometimes referred to as the Festival of Lights. Diwali and Shree Sadguru Din Commemorations was celebrated on Thursday 19th October 2017.

The festival of lights celebrates the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Lamps and divo’s are lit allowing us to remember and reflect on the true purpose of Diwali. 

Chopda Poojan was conducted. The signifcance of Chopda Poojan is to perform poojan on the accounting books of next financial year. Devotees conduct this poojan in order to seek blessings for their business and to achieve the goals set. The day was concluded with mahaprasad. The annakut was exhibited A exquisitively, it left everyone amazed. The Diwali festivities started off with meditation, followed by Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s divine blessings, Sandhya aarti and niyams were recited.

The Diwali festivities started off with Aarti , followed by Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s divine blessings followed by Acharya Swamishree’s New years divine blessings and finale disciples greet and hug each other forgiving each other for all past mistakes and looking forwards together to the new year.

In the evening a Firework Display took place lighting up the sky at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Bolton.
