By the command of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree, and under the auspices of Shree Swaminarayan Temple Mumbai, the Temple Mahant, Shree Divyadarshandasji Swami and a group of sants and disciples traveled to the regions around Western India to distribute vital charitable aid.
The nine day tour of some of the most remote regions around Goa commenced on 6 January 2006. In the village of Panchgini, approximately 400 poor people living in the Bel Air Charitable Hospital were given food and clothing. In the Dharjai Vidya-mandir, approximately 250 orphaned children were provided with amenities for education, food and clothing. In the village of Ranji, food and clothing was distributed to over 600 people.
Food and clothing was distributed in villages throughout the Satara District. Approximately 20,000 kg of grain was distributed to 700 of the poorest people living in the District. The District Collector of Satara, Shree S B Patil and Deputy Collector Shree Shellenra Palnitkar commended Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan for performing such an act of charity.
In the Banda Satvadi District, food and clothing was distributed in the villages of Mangaon, Valid, Neharu, Munage, Kunteswar, Rajpur, Chandeteya, Ukshi, Keda, Poladapur, Panvel, and to the homeless people living in the Pavash Swarupanand Ashram.
