On Wednesday 12 July 2006, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree presided over an assembly held in Maninagar, to pray to the merciful Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, for the spiritual welfare of all the souls who mercilessly perished in the tragedy that struck Mumbai on 11 July 2006.

On Wednesday 12 July 2006, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree presided over an assembly held in Maninagar, to pray to the merciful Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, for the spiritual welfare of all the souls who mercilessly perished in the tragedy that struck Mumbai on 11 July 2006.

The eight bombs that exploded in commuter trains during the evening rush hour killed nearly 150 people and injured nearly 500 people. Thousands of people will have been plunged in sorrow and mourning due to the loss and injury to their family and friends. The entire city, and indeed, the entire country, has been struck with fear.

During the special assembly, Acharya Swamishree also prayed for the Lord to bestow strength and courage to those who are suffering from injuries caused by the attacks and also to the families of everyone concerned. Acharya Swamishree said that He was extremely saddened by the events. In particular, He said that it was a tragic day for all mankind that such a devastating act of terrorism should be performed on such an auspicious day, the day of Gurupoonam.

Acharya Swamishree implored the people of Mumbai to continue having faith in God. In His address, Acharya Swamishree said that whether it can be understood or not, it is possible that the outcome could have been much worse; and it is God who has saved everyone from such an even graver disaster.

The assembly was attended by sants and disciples of Ahmedabad and also leading dignatoriies and officials of the city.
