On Monday 30th August 2004, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree answered the prayers of His Sants and devotees and granted an evening of Bhakti Sangeet and devotional dances. Devotees of all ages took part including those learning to sing and play musical instruments in the London Temple. There were also several devotional dances performed on this evening, again by boys and girls of all ages.
The evening started with kirtan bhakti performed by the Sangeet students. These performances were followed by a tabla medley, again given by students learning to play in the London Temple. These young students had been practising for this evening for several months and attended classes for much longer in order to please Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree.
The evening’s events continued with a dance performed to a remix of kirtans: a total of over 50 devotees performed in groups during this dance. Male and female devotees of all ages took the opportunity to please the Lord as part of this unique performance.
Kirtan Bhakti was then performed by Sants and devotees, including a young performer of only ten years old. As a special finale to this celebratory occasion, Acharya Swamishree gave a surprise to the entire sabha. He inspired Sant Shiromani Shree Anantananddasji Swami to perform the kirtan, “Hari charan ma naachu aaj.” This was the same kirtan that he performed during the Bhakti Sageet evening of the London Murti Pratishtha Mahotsav in 2000. The entire sabha became overjoyed with the reminiscence of that occasion and the same divine and electric atmosphere that was created then, was experienced by all today.
