Sants and disciples from all over the country gathered in Maninagar to celebrate Gurupoornima.
The full moon in the month of Ashadh is known as Gurupoornima. This is the auspicious day of the year for paying homage to one’s Guru and gaining his blessings. This year, Gurupoonam fell on Friday 18 July. In India, the sants from all over the country gathered in Maninagar to perform poojan. Gurudev Swamibapa was carried in a palanquin from the Brahm Mahol to Shree Muktajeevan Auditorium by the sants. A magnificent swing was erected on the stage on which Lord Swaminarayan and His entire lineage of spiritual successors gave darshan.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
