On the third day of the festival, Acharya Swamishree started the Murti Pratishtha Havan Ceremony in which a fire is lit into which ghee and grain is placed as sacred verses from the ancient Hindu Scriptures are recited.

The conclusion ceremonies of a scripture recital, Shree Jeevanpran Swamibapa ni Vato Part 1, also took place during the morning assembly.

In Acharya Swamishree’s divine blessings, He said:

  • Disciples performed Kirtan Bhakti, devotion through singing and performing religious songs. All this effort was for the sole purpose of pleasing the supreme Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa. In this age of Kaliyug, the scriptures state that the Lord can be pleased through true, sincere, faithful and dedicated Kirtan Bhakti.
  • All the disciples who have come to this festival firmly acknowledge and are of the belief that any kind of dedication made at Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, reaches the lotus feet of the supreme Lord Swaminarayan. For that reason, disciples are not holding back in pleasing the Lord in many different ways. Some perform Kirtan Bhakti, some take part in the dances, some donate money, some help in the organising, etc. There are numerous ways of pleasing the Lord. Everyone here is eager to please the Lord. Such eagerness is essential in one’s life to develop within the Satsang.
  • In Jeevanpran Swamibapa ni Vato, our beloved Swamibapa explains: you have attained God and His divine Satpurushs, so your aim in life should be to please Him. If such eagerness truly develops within a person, what can he not do? The Lord showers His mercy over everyone equally, but it is dependent on the worth of the individual about how much he appreciates and assimilates that mercy. If someone has a true eagerness to please the Lord, any vile tendencies that exist within him will be discarded. This dedication and eagerness is what distinguishes a disciple who progresses day by day towards God, and a disciple who remains static.

After Acharya Swamishree’s divine blessings, H H Swamibapa Pipe Band, Nairobi, led Brigadier Rakeshkumar Bharadwaj, Brigadier of Military station Bhuj to the stage. He is a very senior official in the Indian Army and has received many commendations from the Indian Army. He was accompanied by his father, wife and also, Colonel Sameersinha, and Colonel Vishnuchand.

These very senior officials from the Indian army have dedicated their lives for the protection of India, in the same manner that Acharya Swamishree has dedicated everything to the protection and propagation of the Swaminarayan philosophy. This was the sentiment of all their speeches.

Shree Saileshbhai Vyas gave an introduction to Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan and Acharya Swamishree, and also summarised the achievements of each of the guests. On this occasion, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Honourable Shree Narendra Modi had sent a letter of commendation to Acharya Swamishree. This was read to the assembly by Trustee, Shree Jadavjibhai Varsani.

In the presences of the special guests, Acharya Swamishree presented charity cheques to various institutions of Vrushpur on behalf of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. These included, Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj – Ahmedabad, Shree Kutch Baladiya Leva Patel Gnati Vidyalay – Vrushpur, Baladiya Gaam Vikas Samiti, Kutch Baladiya Leva Patel Gnati Samaj, Shree Baladiya Hindu Smasan Bhumi, Shree Sahajanand Sports Club Vrushpur, Shree Leva Patel Seva Mandal Vrushpur, Shree Jalsankat Nivaran Samiti Vrushpur, Shree Vir Bhagatsigh Yuva Kranti Sangh Vrushpur and Shree Baladiya Gauraksan Trust.

Representatives from the various charitable institutions were present to accept the donations from Acharya Swamishree.

During the afternoon assembly, the scripture recitals were continued by Sants, and the communal recitals of Bapashree ni Vato was held.

Evening Drama

During the evening, a religious drama was performed by Sants and disciples. The drama, called ‘Vhalido Dhaayaa Vaahre’ (the immense mercy of the beloved Lord) was inspired by Acharya Swamishree and written by Shree Vasantbhai Patel, Shree Sarveshwardasji Swami, Shree Munibhushandasji Swami and Shree Muniswardasji Swami.

The drama narrates an instance when an evil spirit had come to haunt 3 friends in Vrushpur. One of these was a disciple, so he immediately started to chant the name of Lord Swaminarayan and recalled the divine Murti of Jeevanpran Bapashree. Due to his devotion, Jeevanpran Bapashree appeared to save the individuals from the spirit, who then asked for forgiveness from Bapashree for all his sins and begged to be granted salvation. Bapashree mercifully sent that pitiful soul to the divine abode. The 2 friends who were not disciples became eager for the darshan of Bapashree, so they all went to Bapashree’s Chhatri, where Bapashree was presiding with Sadguru Shree Ishwar Bapa amongst an assembly. They told everyone what they had just experienced.

Bapashree then narrated the story of when Lord Swaminarayan saved Shree Muktanand Swami and Brahmanand Swami. Once, Shree Muktanand Swami and Brahmanand Swami were travelling to Gadhada for the Lord’s darshan. They went through a village in which a fraudulent sage, Gadbaddas used to live. He had so much enmity for Lord Swaminarayan that he vowed to remove the nose and ears of any Swaminarayan Sant who came to his village. Gadbaddas came to know that the 2 Sants were in his village, so he called them to his home with the pretext of wanting to offer a meal to them. The 2 devout Sants were beaten and locked in a cage. As Gadbaddas sharpened his sword to cut off both Sant’s ears, the 2 Sants prayed to the Lord, Shree Muktanand Swami composed a prayer, ‘Mere To Ek Tu-mahi Aadhaar’. The merciful Lord Shree Swaminarayan inspired the village guard to come to their rescue.

In the same manner, the story of Ramjibhai of Vrushpur was enacted. With the blessings of Jeevanpran Bapashree, Ramjibhai went to East Africa to work. Bapashree told him never to forget the Lord, or his duties as a disciple of Lord Swaminarayan. Ramjibhai was travelling through the jungle when a savage masai tribe captured him and locked him in a cage. As they prepared a fire to kill and then cook Ramjibhai’s flesh, Ramjibhai prayed to Lord Swaminarayan and Bapashree. He remembered the words that Bapashree had told him as he left Vrushpur, that the Lord would protect him if he remained obedient to the Lord’s commands. The merciful Bapashree inspired a group of people, who mysteriously reached the site and freed Ramjibhai.

The drama described the mercy and immense love of Lord Swaminarayan and Bapashree for his true disciples. The divine, extraordinary feats of Lord Swaminarayan can be seen in the divine episodes of Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree.

The drama then depicted how Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa came to Chhatri when the situation was so dire for the disciples of Kutch, that even to mention the name of Bapa evoked hatred. Jeevanpran Swamibapa gave strength to the disciples and preserved the name and teachings of Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree.

At the end of the drama, young disciples performed a devotional dance to the song ‘Bapashree noo Naam, Gaaje Gaamo Gaam, Swamibapa e chhe Tamaaraa Tap Tanoo Parinaam’.
