During the procession, disciples carried gifts to offer to the Lord. Jeevanpran Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree sat on a grand chariot. The procession reached Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Maninagar at 9.30 am. The Sahi Swagat Ceremony was performed before Jeevanpran Swamibapa during which, 99 cakes were offered. The Grand Weighing (tula) ceremony was performed during which Swamibapa was ceremonially weighed with sugar, flowers, beetal nuts and the five nectars.
Guest of honour during the celebrations was film actor Shree Upendra Trivedi, who has starred in over 100 films and received many awards. Furthermore, he has been voted as Councillor 3 times consecutively in the district of Varodara. On this occasion, Acharya Swamishree and Upendra Trivedi gave awards to students who have excelled in their mainstream education.
In His divine blessings, Acharya Swamishree said:
Exactly 99 years have passed since Jeevanpran Swamibapa manifested at the home of Muljibhai Patel and Ichhaba, in the village of Kheda. Today marks the start of Swamibapa’s 100th year, Swamibapa’s Centenary. Next year, we will be holding a magnificent grand festival here. You are all invited to come here and celebrate with us; because here is where Jeevanpran Swamibapa lived and here, is where Jeevanpran Swamibapa has made His home for all eternity.
We are truly fortunate to be the disciples of Jeevanpran Swamibapa; the true disciples of Lord Swaminarayan. It is by the Lord’s immense grace that such a great fortune has been showered upon us all.
We must always remain vigilant and remember that whoever we are, whatever we are, and whatever skills we have attained, are due to the Lord. No manner of arrogance or ego must ever arise within us; otherwise, all the virtues that have been amassed will disintegrate and the mercy of the Lord will no longer remain. Consequently, the divine shelter of the Lord will be lost.
After the divine blessings, disciples performed aarti to Jeevanpran Swamibapa. Prasad was then distributed to all.
The entire celebrations were broadcast live over the internet.
