On Sunday 4 January 2009, over 800 disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan living in Kutch, of all ages, took part in a convention to teach the essentials of living a moral, spiritual and cultured life, through a series of educational, recreational and social events. The convention was held with the divine blessings and inspiration of Acharya Swamishree, and was organised by the sants living in Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Darbar Gadh Chowk, Bhuj.
The very successful event was held in the vast grounds of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Arts and Commerce College for Girls. Many eminent sants had travelled to Bhuj to be present at this event. They talked about the need to have respect for one’s parents and for elders; to refrain from immoral activities and vices; and the need to preserve good family values.
Through the various social activities, personal skills such as building confidence, public speaking, team working, respecting others, etc. were also taught.
The convention was reported by the regional press, who commended the Organisation’s efforts in holding such an event. This was the first time that such an event had been held in Kutch. The reporters implored the sants to make hold such conventions more regularly in order to improve the morality in the people of Kutch.
