Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Kadi has had a unique role in the firm and final establishment of the supreme Karan Satsang. It was first built with the divine blessings of Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa by Shree Gopallalbhai, the Governor of Kadi. Sadguru Shree Nirgundasji Swamibapa performed the Murti Pratishtha of Lord Shree Swaminarayan.

Many years later, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree performed the Murti Pratishtha of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj in the Temple. On that occasion, Jeevanpran Bapashree reiterated the importance that the temple would hold in the future of the Faith, "Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Kadi shall have a unique role in the firm and final establishment of the supreme Karan Satsang."

In 1934 CE, Sadguru Shree Ishwarcharandasji Swamibapa entrusted the responsibility of Kadi Mandir to Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa.

The old Mandir building was rebuilt in 2001 by the inspiration and encouragement of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.

Exactly 95 years have passed since Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree ceremonially installed the divine Murti of Shree Ghansham Maharaj in this historical Mandir. Acharya Swamishree Maharaj arrived in Kadi on Monday 10th February 2014. Sants and disciples performed the Ekadashi evening rituals in the presence of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, and then held a procession during the morning of Tuesday 11th February. On Wednesday 12th February, after performing the patotsav ceremony in the ladies Mandir, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj ceremonially bathed Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj in the five nectars. A grand annakut was also offered to the Lord on this occasion.
