On Thursday 6 June 2013, His Divine Holiness performed the inauguration of Shree Muktajeevan Music School. Situated in the upper floors of Shree Swaminarayan Tower, Maninagar, the school will specialise in Indian and Western music.

During His divine blessings, Acharya Swamishree explained the value of music in one’s life. He stated, “When music is combined with devotion – i.e. it is devotional song and music, it has the strength to transform a person’s mind. He is taken from this world into the world of the divine.” Acharya Swamishree reminded everyone of some of the great Sants of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, who were proficient musicians, singers, poets and dancers. In that tradition, the Lord’s spiritual heir, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa trained His Sants to be skilled in the arts. Most memorable of these is Sadguru Shree Bhaktavatsaldasji Swami, who was highly skilled in all the musical arts. Acharya Swamishree advised the artists and musicians in the audience that they must never consider their skills to be due to the own efforts, but remember that they are gifts from God. Therefore, they must never become egotistical about their talents. If they do become arrogant, the hard work they have put in to attain aptitude in their arts would have been completely futile.

Acharya Swamishree blessed all the school teachers and students, and consecrated the newly purchased musical instruments.
