Saturday 20 April 2013, marked one of the most significant days of the year for a disciple of Lord Swaminarayan. Chaitra Sud 9, referred to as Shree Swaminarayan Jayanti, is the day that Lord Swaminarayan appeared on the Earth, at the home of Shree Dharmadev and Bhaktimata, in a small village in Northern India called Chhapaiya.

Exactly 232 years after that auspicious event, Lord Swaminarayan’s manifestation was celebrated throughout the world in all the temples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan.

At the eternal home of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Maninagar, the celebrations took place in the divine presence of Acharya Swamishree. At midday, Acharya Swamishree commenced the 24 hour long continual recitation (dhoon) of the supreme Swaminarayan Mahamantra.

Sants and disciples congregated in the Mandir at the exact time of the Lord’s manifestation and celebrated as the divine Murti of Lord Shree Swaminarayan was seated by Acharya Swamishree in a decorated silver cradle.

The following day, Acharya Swamishree concluded the continuous recitation and bestowed divine blessings in which He explained the purpose and significance of the Lord’s manifestation on the Earth.
