Viramgam is the largest city within the Ahmedabad District of Gujarat. It is approximately 65km away from Ahmedabad, and is situated on the intersection of routes heading towards Kutch and Saurashtra when travelling from Ahmedabad.

This mainly industrial city is located approximately 65 km from Ahmedabad on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Gandhidham route. It is regarded as being a junction centre, because it is located at the intersection of four major railway lines, Ahmedabad-Viramgam; Viramgam-Surendranagar; Viramgam-Mehsana; and Viramgam-Dhrangadra-Samakhyali lines.

The loving disciples of the city wished for many years for a centre for their worship could be established in Viramgam. Accepting their prayers, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj had a grand Mandir constructed in an affluent region of the city called Sarvoday Society.

Acharya Swamishree Maharaj arrived in the city during the evening of Sunday 1 February 2015. A ceremonial reception was held in the Mandir forecourt during which young disciples of the city performed a grand welcoming dance. Acharya Swamishree Maharaj then proceeded to formally open the Mandir doors.

During the morning of Monday 02 February 2015, a procession was held through the city. Such a grand procession had never been held in Viramgam previously. Swamibapa Swamishree Pipe Band from Maninagar performed throughout the procession.

During the evening, a very informative drama production was performed by the disciples of Bavla during which the dangers of addictions and bad habits was explained. The entire production was directed by one of Gujarat’s leading dramatic artists and dancers, Shri Saurabh Rajyaguru.

During the morning of Tuesday 03 February 2015, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj performed the Pratishtha ceremony and installed the divine Murtis of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and the Lord’s sacred lineage of spiritual heirs in a golden sinhasan. A lavish array of food in the form of a grand annakut was offered to the Lord and disciples were given the opportunity of performing aarti.

During His divine blessings, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj explained the importance of a Mandir in one’s life, and the difference that this centre will have on the progression of Viramgam’s disciples towards the ideal state – absolute salvation, becoming truly united with the divine Murti of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.

Acharya Swamishree Maharaj also commended the Sants and disciples who were involved in the construction of the splendid Mandir, which had been completed in less than 12 months.
