In 1970, Gurudev Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa and sants first stepped foot on soil of the United States of America, and they planted the seeds for Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan in this nation. Jeevanpran Swamibapa brought the satsang to the United States when there were very few disciples residing here. He gave them blessings and imparted wisdom to them to help the satsang grow through the years. It was Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s dream to build a temple and to have the satsang strongly flourishing in the United States one day.
After Jeevanpran Swamibapa passed the helm of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi to His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree in 1979, Acharya Swamishree returned to the United States in the years 1987, 1992, 1995, 1998, and 1999, and He worked tirelessly to spread the glory of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa all over the United States. The satsang in the United States rapidly grew, and after ongoing tries to fulfill our beloved Gurudev’s dream of building a temple in the United States, in August 1998, Acharya Swamishree broke ground in Secaucus, New Jersey, on what would be Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan’s first sikhar-bandh mandir in the United States of America.
In August 2001, under the inspiration and blessings of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree and Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa’s dream came to reality. The Murti Pratishtha Mahotsav of Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey was celebrated. During this magnificent festival, Acharya Swamishree inaugurated the new sikhar-bandh temple and ceremoniously installed the divine murtis of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree, and Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa after weighing each against 750 kilograms of pure gold in the historical Suvarna Tula ceremony. The event was celebrated with absolute grandeur and went down in the Karan Satsang’s history as one of the most memorable occasions ever witnessed by disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan.
In August 2011, once again under the inspiration and blessings of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree and Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, the Dashabdi Mahotsav of Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey will be celebrated. During the past decade, the temple’s disciples have demonstrated incredible devotion, service, and unity to please the Lord and Acharya Swamishree. With the Lord’s blessings and Acharya Swamishree’s endless encouragement and inspiration, Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s dream has been well realized these past ten years. This wonderful decade will be celebrated during the four-day Dashabdi Mahotsav festival from Thursday, August 4th, 2011 through Sunday, August 7th, 2011.
