Shree Swaminarayan Gadi is the divine throne upon which He Himself established and presides on in Akshardham. This eternal throne signifies the divine office of Lord Shree Swaminarayan. Only Lord Shree Swaminarayan, and those through whom He gives darshan upon the Earth, can be Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi.

In 1972, Jeevanpran Swamibapa gave Shree Swaminarayan Gadi a physical embodiment and brought it onto this Earth from Akshardham by the express command of Lord Swaminarayan Himself. Precisely 25 years later, Jeevanpran Swamibapa's beloved heir, Acharya Swamishree, inspired Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Rajat Mahotsav, to celebrate the silver jubilee of this historic event
