In 1952, Adya Acharya Pravar Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa established the first of many temples outside of India - Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Nairobi, Kenya. The Suvarna Pratishtha Mahotsav Nairobi was celebrated over five days, from the 22nd until the 26th of December 2002, to mark the Golden Jubilee of this historic event, and to commemorate the truly pioneering nature of our Gurudev Jeevanpran Swamibapa.

Highlights of this festival include numerous scripture recitals, evening events of devotional singing and dancing, and a grand procession thorough the streets of Nairobi, lead by Acharya Swamishree's magnificent white dove-shaped chariot.
