Utraayan Celebration - 2012
Lord Shree Swaminarayan attended school during Dhanurmaas. This year, Dhanurmaas commenced on December 15th, 2011 and concluded on January 14th, 2012. Each morning at Mangla Aarti during the period of Dhanurmaas, disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey prepared plentiful thaals with a variety of delicacies to offer to the Lord before He went to school.

New Year Satsang Shibir - 2012
Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey annually organizes a Satsang shibir each New Year to further disciples knowledge about the Swaminarayan faith in a fun and creative way and to promote unity within the temple congregation. It is a very enjoyable event meant for disciples to end the current year and to begin the New Year on the best terms ? i.e. by having fun pleasing the Lord and by spending time with other disciples.

Mr. Parshottam Rupala visit New Jersey Temple
On Saturday, December 17th, 2011, Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey welcomed two very special guests of honor ? Mr. Parshottam Rupala, current general secretary and spokesperson of the Bhartiya Janta Party for the state of Gujarat, and Mr. Jayantibhai Barot, another member of the Indian Parliament from the Bharatiya Janta Party.

Medical Camp at Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey 2011
This year, Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey held its Medical Camp on Sunday, November 13th, 2011. Community doctors, nurses, volunteers, and temple disciples worked together to provide other disciples and community members with free physical, dental, vision, and EKG checkups as well as blood work at no cost.

Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and of light over darkness. The purpose of Diwali is to remove all sources of darkness (ignorance, greed, worldly desires, thoughts, etc.) from within us and replace them with light, which symbolizes the true knowledge and divinity of the Lord.
