Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury Honours the Armed Forces to celebrate Raksha Bandhan
Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury welcomed the Armed Forces to the Mandir to celebrate Raksha Bandhan festival.
The chief guest was the Rt Hon Earl Howe (MOD Minister of State in the House of Lords) and senior military personnel included General Sir Gordon Messenger KCB DSO OBE ADC (Vice Chief of Defence Staff). Around twenty Hindu and non-Hindu Armed forces personnel received Rakhis from our young boys and girls - symbolising the bond between the protectors and those being protected. Local MP Barry Gardiner and a number of other dignitaries also attended.

The Hindola Festival (Updated)
The Hindola Festival runs from Thursday 21st July to Sunday 14th August. Literally translated, a hindolo is a swing. Traditionally, babies and young children are swayed from swings. These early childhood days are considered some of the most formative and important. One can imagine the love, adoration and attention a baby would receive whilst swaying in such a swing.

Acharya Swamishree Maharaj Arrives in London for His UK Vicharan
Wednesday 10th August saw the spiritual wishes and desires of disciples of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan residing in the UK fulfilled as Acharya Swamishree Maharaj arrived in London. During His visit, He will be presiding over the annual Patotsav Ceremonies at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury and Bolton.

Bhajan Bhakti - Performed by the Haridan Ghadvi
At the major Mandirs of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan in India, it is traditional to see an evening of Bhakti Sangeet to celebrate the Hindola Festival. For the first time in the UK, this tradition was experienced at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury on Saturday 6th August. The evening was performed by the renowned Haridan Ghadvi, supported by the Mandir?s very own Swamibapa Orchestra.

Gurupoonam celebrated in glorious sunshine
The hottest day of the year so far saw hundreds of worshippers gather in the evening sunshine to pay homage, respect and adoration to our beloved Gurudev Jeevatnpran Swamibapa.
Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, along with their Cadet Corps, lined up to salute Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa in the forecourt of the Mandir, before leading Him into the main prayer hall, where hundreds of disciples had gathered for His darshan on this, the most auspicious of occasions - Gurupoonam.

Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Kingsbury and Bolton attend Shikshapatri Darshan Yatra - University of Oxford Library
On Saturday 9th July 2016, over 650 people from Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Kingsbury and Bolton made their way to the University of Oxford, Bodleian Library in a special cultural yatra, pilgrimage, organised by Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Gujarati School. This magnificent library holds an original manuscript of Lord Swaminarayan?s code of conduct - the Shikshapatri with all 212 verses that serve to benefit everyone in society.

Swamibapa FC takes to the pitch at annual SKLP football tournament
Swamibapa Football Club, part of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Academy of Sport, took part in the annual SKLPC 5-a-side football tournament on Sunday 3rd July 2016.

Amit Ghelani, face of recent NHS Blood Campaign, visits Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Kingsbury to thank the donors

Over one hundred people visited Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury on Sunday 26th June 2016 to do something amazing by donating blood. Amit Ghelani, who receives a blood transfusion every three weeks for blood condition beta thalassemia major, attended the session to thank the hundreds of donors, who selflessly gave the gift of life.

Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury calls for peace and tolerance on International Yoga Day
Some 250 'yogis' gathered at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury today to celebrate the second annual International Yoga Day. With Yoga being so synonymous with strength and flexibility as well as boosting mental and emotional peace and wellbeing, the event was used to honour the innocent victims of recent hate-crimes; the mass shootings in Orlando exactly a week ago, and the more recent murder of MP, Jo Cox. A short minute silence was held at the end of the Yoga session to reflect on these horrific events and pray of peace and tolerance.
