Baddha Konasana – Cobbler's pose

Baddha Konasana pose is called Cobbler’s pose.  It is designed to open your hips.  If you have sat in one place for too long this is a good pose to relieve tension.

The instructions for this pose are:

Sit with your legs straight in front of you.

  1. Now slowly bend your knees and pull your heels towards you.
  2. Drop the knees out to our sides and press your heels together.
  3. If you are very flexible your knees may touch the floor, if not don't worry this is normal and you should carry on practising!
  4. Place your hands on your feet.
  5. Lengthen your body and breathe deeply.
  6. When you have finished extend your self and shake them on the floor.
  7. Repeat the asana again.
