He Called
The Moon To Him
One day, when Lord Ghanshyam was
a child, He was sleeping in His cot. It was a bright night.
The moonlight was as white as milk and it cloaked the entire
earth. On the wall opposite the cot, there was a window high
up. The moonlight shone through the window and fell upon the
Lord's face.
The
Lord was in a deep sleep, but as soon as the moonlight touched
His face, He immediately awoke. When He opened His eyes He
saw the shining moon. He really wanted to play with the moon.
Whilst remaining in His cot, He stretched out His arm and
caught the moon.
The moon was very thirsty for the Lord's darshan, so he felt
happy that the Lord Himself had called him. That is why the
moon took the form of a child. He went into the house, stood
beside the cot, and began to play with the Lord.
WOW! WHAT A SIGHT!
The
moonlight also shone from the child, so it became very bright
inside the house. The house was filled with light. Bhaktimata
was woken up by this light. She was frightened at seeing Lord
Ghanshyam playing with the moon. When Lord Ghanshyam saw this,
He said, "Do not be scared, Mother. The moon has only
come to play with me. I have brought him here myself."
At hearing this, His mother became pleased. Then the moon
bowed down to Lord Ghanshyam and Bhaktimata, and returned
to his place in the sky.
