Divine Babe

One day, Bhaktimata laid the baby Lord Ghanshyam to rest in His cradle. She hooked His rattle up high above the cradle, out of the reach of the Lord, before going to sleep.

Ghanshyam, still lying in His cradle, stretched out His arm to an extraordinary length, took the rattle and began sucking on it. The noise of the rattle awoke Bhaktimata and she went over to the Lord’s cradle where she found Ghanshyam playing with the rattle.

Bhaktimata said, “I tied the rattle firmly, out of Ghanshyam’s reach high above the cradle. Who untied it and gave it to Him?” Dharmadev replied, “as soon as you fell asleep, Ghanshyam made His arm long, and untied it Himself. I saw it all with my own eyes.”

On hearing this, Bhaktimata became overwhelmed with joy, that her beloved Son was so powerful and divine.
