Shree Swaminarayan Jayanti 2023 - Maninagar

Thursday 30 March 2023, marked one of the most significant days of the year for a disciple of Lord Swaminarayan. Chaitra Sud 9, referred to as Shree Swaminarayan Jayanti, is the day that supreme Lord Shree Swaminarayan appeared in a human form upon the Earth, at the home of Shree Dharmadev and Bhaktimata, in a small village in Northern India called Chhapaiya.

Exactly 242 years after that auspicious event, Lord Swaminarayan’s manifestation was celebrated throughout the world in all the temples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan.

At the eternal home of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Maninagar, the celebrations took place in the divine presence of Acharya Swamiji Maharaj. During the morning, performed the Shanghar Aarti, when a lavish offering of 42 different varieties of sweet mithai was presented before the Lord in a truly spectacular manner. At 8.30am, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj commenced the 24 hour long continual recitation (dhoon) of the supreme Swaminarayan Mahamantra.

Sants and disciples congregated in the Mandir at the exact time of the Lord’s manifestation. The Lord was ceremonially brought into the Mandir, and was seated in a golden cradle. At the time of the Lord’s manifestation, just after 10pm, Acharya Swamiji Maharaj performed the pragatya aarti.

The next morning, on Friday 31 March 2023, the 24 hour dhoon was concluded. A general meeting of the Satsang Mahasabha was held, after which the divine blessings of Gurudev Swamibapa were broadcast. Acharya Swamiji Maharaj bestowed blessings during which He explained the greatness of the sacred Swaminarayan mahamantra, and the purpose and significance of the Lord’s manifestation on the Earth.
