Day 3 Highlight - Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Suvarna Mahotsav

With the stunning backdrop of the World Peace Centre, the second of a series of evening events at Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Smruti Mandir took place today with an evening of Bhakti Nrutya - devotional dance performances. Over a dozen dances from Sants and disciples from around the world delivered this extravagant and enjoyable evening of devotion and entertainment.

Soon after Bapa’s arrival, the hosts for the day kicked off the evening by introducing the dance groups. Performers from Maninagar, Panchamahal, USA, Bavala, Pipe Band Maninagar, Nairobi, Vadodara, Bolton, our Chatralay and London took to the stage to please Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamiji Maharaj with their displays of devotion.

Aditya Patil, an Indian dancer who in 2022 won the Indian dance reality show 'Dance Deewane Juniors,' also took this opportunity to please the Lord with a superb balletic and emotive contemporary dance performance.

Emotions in the audience ranged from ecstasy to heartbreak as the performance covered the glory of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, it’s flourishment under Ved Ratna Bapa, through to memories of His final leela - fitting, given the venue of the night. There weren’t many dry eyes, the air heavy with contemplation and memories.

The final act of the evening was a special tribute to Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj; this form of bhakti was very dear to Bapa. Who can forget the indelible memory of Him taking to the stage to dance with His sants and devotees on so many occasions? So many of us benefit from the arts academies that He has inspired at Mandirs around the world. This finale was a poignant and moving tribute to our beloved Ved Ratna Bapa.
