Thursday 5th August 2021 marks precisely one year according to the Samvat calendar, since Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj willed to withdraw His human darshan on Samvat 2077, Ashadh Vad 11. The episodes performed by the Lord and His Satpurshs whilst on this Earth are all divine and extraordinary. They are not bound by the constraints of the mortal world. Everything that They do occurs due to Their will. In that same manner, this episode of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s human darshan too was also divine and extraordinary.

This first Purnyatithi was marked with a two-day commemorative festival at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Maninagar and at the eternal samadhi site of Gurudev Jeevanpran Swamibapa and Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj – Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Smruti Mandir. While Sants and disciples residing here had the darshan of this event in person, the worldwide Shree Swaminarayan Gadi family took part online.

Scripture recitals of ‘Shree Abji Bapashree ni Vato - Bhag 1 Shree Abji Bapashree ni Vato - Bhag 2 and ‘Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swami’ took place throughout the two days. This was the first such parayan of this latter scripture, which is the first volume of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s biography, published on His 75th manifestation day on 28th May 2017, and describes the significant and memorable episodes in His remarkable life, up to the time of Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s departure from this mortal world.

The central part of the two-day event was the poojan of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj at the memorial monument built at the precise location of His cremation, inside the grounds of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Smruti Mandir. A procession, led by Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriya Swamiji Maharaj and accompanied by Sants, disciples and Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, carried the divine murti of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj into the sabha mandap. Sants and disciples recounted their memories of Bapa, and described His numerous divine episodes, great and small. Disciples from Bavda and Sants performed a concert of kirtan bhakti, and everyone present and watching live around the world then had the opportunity to offer aarti to Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj and Acharya Swamiji Maharaj.

A new kirtan CD "Teri Krupa Hardam Rahe" was inaugrated by Acharya Swamiji Maharaj in honour of Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.

With a year now passed since Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj performed this divine leela, the words of Acharya Swamiji Maharaj – through whom today, as the present Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, we have the divine darshan of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj – that were delivered from this very site during Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s cremation ceremony, are worthy of recalling. On that day, He said, “In a rope, even the smallest strand forms part of its strength. In the same way, to uphold this Sansthan, everyone from the eldest to the youngest Sant and disciple has an equal role.”

At this special time of year, we pray to Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, Ved Ratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj and Acharya Swamiji Maharaj to bestow us with the divine ability, wisdom, strength and devotion to obey that command.
