The auspicious occasion of Prabhodhini Ekadashi (Kartik Sud Ekadashi, Samvat 2063) fell on Thursday 2nd November 2006. The disciples of London, UK, had the privilege of celebrating this special day in the divine presence of Acharya Swamishree. This particular Ekadashi is especially significant in the Karan Satsang; five anniversaries fall on this day, namely:

  1. Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree Jayanti (Samvat 1901, 1844 AD, Vrushpur).
  2. Birthday of Shree Dharmadev (Samvat 1796, 1739 AD, Itara).
  3. Shree Nilkanthvarni was initiated as a Sant by Sadguru Shree Ramanand Swami (Samvat 1857, 1800, Piplana).
  4. Shreeji Mahararaj was handed the helm of religion by Sadguru Shree Ramanand Swami (Samvat 1858, 1801 AD, Jetpur).
  5. Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa was initiated as a Sant in the Samvat year 1986 (14th November 1929).

This was the first time in over twenty years that Acharya Swamishree had celebrated Prabhodhini Ekadashi in London, and befittingly, He had inspired a special surprise for His disciples. The curtains, which had been drawn to veil the secret that the sants has meticulously prepared, were opened to rapturous applause as everyone had the divine, unique darshan of Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree presiding in a golden Tula (sacred weighing scales).

His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree then conducted the Tula ceremony during which Jeevanpran Bapashree was weighed in turn against flowers, sugar, beetle nuts, coconuts, and finally pure gold. Acharya Swamishree rotated the scales during each weighing, ensuring that every single sant and disciple received this unforgettable darshan.

Acharya Swamishree then offered cake to the supreme Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Jeevanpran Bapashree, before He and the sants performed aarti. All the disciples then had the privilege of performing aarti to Jeevanpran Bapashree whilst He continued to bestow this unique darshan. The evening’s event concluded with everyone taking prasad.
