Lord Shree Swaminarayan manifested upon this Earth in a human form (Samvat 1837 Chaitra Sud 9, Monday 2 April 1781). On Thursday 2 April 2020, Supreme Purna Purushottam Lord Shree Swaminarayan’s 239th Pragatya Jayanti was celebrated in all the Mandirs around the world and additionally, due to the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, all the disciples remained in their homes to celebrate the Lord’s Pragatya.
Continuous Dhoon (recital) of the ‘Swaminarayan’ Mahamantra was performed. In Mumbai, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj installed the Murti of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj in a golden Paranyu (cradle), and at the precise time of the Lord’s manifestation, He performed the Pragatya Aarti.
This darshan of the Lord presiding in the Paranyu continued for six days. On the day of the Chhathi, thaal was offered to the Lord and then aarti was performed to conclude the six days of pragatya celebrations.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
