Day 4 - Shree Vachanamrut Dwishatabdi Mahotsav & Shree Abji Bapashree Shatamrut Mahotsav

For several months, all disciples eagerly awaiting the Mahotsavs were asking themselves how long it was until they began, and now on the penultimate, they are pondering that it is nearly over. Today is Prabhodini Ekadashi – one of the most sacred days for the disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi as it marks six celebrations, including of course, the manifestation day of Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree.

The fourth day started with a parade in the forecourt of the Sabha Mandap, to lead Acharya Swamishree Maharaj onto the Sinhasan. Shr day ee Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Bands from India and Nairobi had the honour today of leading Acharya Swamishree Maharaj through the Sabha Mandap.

Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band saluted Acharya Swamishree Maharaj as He presided on His chariot, which was soon drawn by His beloved Sants into the Sabha Mandap that was full of thousands awaiting His divine darshan. The Bands performed a final salutation to Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree before they left and Bapa presided on His throne to open the morning’s Sabha.

The scripture recitals that had commenced on the first day would be concluded today, with the final conclusion being that of the Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree ni Vato parts 1 and 2. Sant Shiromani Shree Vignanprakashdasji Swami reminded the congregation of the magnitude of today’s Ekadashi, as well as highlighted the fact that the Vachanamrut chapters captured on Ekadashi days carry particular significance as the Lord has narrated the deepest and most important philosophical teachings.

Two ladies residing in Nairobi had shown an incredible amount of devotion by preparing a garland with the entire Vachanamrut Rahasyarth Pradeepika Tika handwritten onto small pages. This garland was presented to Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, before He showered His divine Ashirwad to the entire congregation.

  • Today is Kartik Sud Ekadashi, the manifestation day of our beloved Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree.

  • This auspicious day is also when Dharmadev was born, the Lord took initiation as an ascetic, took responsibility of the Faith as its leader and thus presided upon His own, supreme, eternal Shree Swaminarayan Gadi and the day when Gurudev Swamibapa took initiation as an ascetic.

  • When a person wishes to obtain a degree or other prestigious qualification, he requires a guide, mentor and tutor. Similarly, to attain the elite Anadi-mukta status, one requires the ultimate spiritual guide; and these are present upon this Earth in the form of the ascetic spiritual leaders in Sadguru Shree Gopalanand Swamibapa’s hierarchy.

  • The spiritual guides have mercifully manifested for our sake; to ensure we accomplish the ultimate goal of becoming blissful in the bliss of Lord Shree Swaminarayan’s Murti.

  • Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree manifested on this day in Samvat 1901 and right from childhood, He performed numerous delightful deeds demonstrating His divinity, compassion and spiritual love for all those who were fortunate to recognize Him.

  • Due to the divine grace of Gurudev Swamibapa, we at Shree Swaminarayan Gadi are fortunate to have recognized that Lord Shree Swaminarayan Himself manifested as Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree. For that reason, we are able to experience His divine bliss, joy and spiritual love.

Sponsors for today’s recital were still coming forward – such was the love and enthusiasm of everyone attending these Festivals and watching them on live streams across the world. By the end of Bapa’s Ashirwad, the number of individual recitals reached a colossal 1751. On this auspicious occasion, Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree’s grandson came for Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s darshan, along with his own sons, grandsons and great grandsons – all of whom have remained faithful to Jeevanpran Bapashree and Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, and thus remained in the Karan Satsang for the duration of their life, as ardent disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, the true home of Shree Abji Bapashree’s devotees.

All the disciples who had sponsored recitals of the Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree ni Vato scripture then performed a mass aarti to Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj. The fourth morning of the festivals finished with everyone taking prasad lunch.

Evening - Shree Abji Bapashree Jayanti Celebrations and Smruti

Evening Pragatya Celebrations

Bapashree Smruti - Shree Vachanamrut Dwishatabdi Mahotsav & Shree Abji Bapashree Shatamrut Mahotsav

The fourth evening of the Mahotsavs was dedicated to celebrating the Pragatya Jayanti of our beloved Shreeji Swayam Murti Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree, with this evening being the precise time that He manifested in this very village exactly 175 years ago.

His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree entered the Sabha Mandap at precisely 8pm – trailing behind were the mandal of Sankhya Yogi ladies, all singing with joy and carrying a beautiful Murti of Baby Abji Bapashree in an ornate palanquin – cradling Him with motherly love. A magnificent Annukut was prepared, amidst which Baby Abji Bapashree took His place in a delightful cradle, surrounded by sweet a savour delicacies, all the while being gently swayed by Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.

As the precise hour of Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree’s arrival neared, an orchestra sang kirtans depicting the divine episode of His manifestation and His unsurpassed glory as the personification of Lord Shree Swaminarayan Himself. Disciples waved flags all around, as the Sabha Mandap was filled with divine tranquility and joy. Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s Ashirwad was then showered on all, in which He described the glory of Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree and, boldly and fearlessly, proclaimed that Bapashree and Lord Shree Swaminarayan are one.

At 9pm, marking the exact time of His manifestation, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj offered the Pragatya Aarti to Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree, after which the Sants too joined the aarti. The immense silver Aarti that was used today was the very same one that was a gift from the disciples of Vadodara when Bapashree’s centenary was celebrated by Swamibapa on the Chhatri site, which Swamibapa used to offer the Pragtya Aarti at that time.

Immediately after this, the mass of five Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Bands saluted Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree, before everyone was offered Penda prasadi on this auspicious occasion – the traditional sweet offered to all to mark the arrival of a new baby boy. The evening ended with Acharya Swamishree Maharaj presiding over a Samuh Raas, with Sants and disciples dancing in jubilation and celebration, as the orchestra played kirtans describing the glory of Bapashree.
