Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Delhi 41st Patotsav

The first Mandir of the entire Swaminarayan Faith to be established in Delhi was that of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. On Wednesday 11 October 1978, Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa inaugurated the grand, Shree Swaminarayan Mandir in Civil Lines, Delhi, on the banks of the River Jamuna. The day that He chose for this historical event was the auspicious day of Vijya Dashmi, also commonly known as Dussehra. This day signifies the conquering of good over evil. Most significantly, Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa ceremonially installed the Murtis of Purna Purushottam Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree, and Himself, in the main sinhasan of the Mandir.

Forty-one years have elapsed since that historical day. In celebration of the Mandir’s anniversary, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj and Sants reached Delhi on Friday 4 October 2019 and was ceremonially welcomed by the Sants and disciples living in Delhi. He also inaugurated a newly built wing of the Mandir premises. During the evening of Monday 7 October, a concert of devotional singing was held. On Tuesday 8 October, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj performed the 41st patotsav ceremony of the supreme Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa at Delhi Mandir. The Mayor of Delhi and other local dignitaries came for Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s darshan. Young scholars of the Delhi region also came for blessings and to recite Vedic verses before the Lord on this auspicious day. That evening, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj returned to Maninagardham.
