Inauguration of Gold Sinhasan and Yagnopavit Ceremony in Kadi was held on Tuesday 11th September 2018.
Male, Hindu Dweejs (Brahmins) and Ascetics adorn the auspicious Yagnopavit. This Yagnopavit thread is sacrosanct, and gives strength and power to perform the Yagna ceremony. It hangs around the torso diagonally from the left shoulder to the right thigh. Persons eligible to adorn the Yagnopavit are given an initiation at the age of eight, after which he commences his study of the scriptures. Ascetics are given the sacred thread upon initiation as a Sant.
Every year, the Yagnopavit Mahotsav, the annual ritual of ceremonially changing the sacred thread worn by Sants, is held at Kadi Mandir. The ritual is performed each year on Bhadarva Sud 2. This year, this auspicious date fell on Tuesday 11 September 2018.
