Sports Festival 2013
As part of the celebrations of Shashtipurti Mahotsav of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj, members of Swamibapa Sports organized various recreational and capacity building activities from 26th December 2012 to 1st January 2013. Various games - volleyball, football, netball were organized and played within the temple boundaries, hence, the temple compound was always buzzing with participants and spectators.
The youth took part in various sporting activities while the elderly turned out in large numbers to support them. This was a period of brotherliness, togetherness, intermingling, teamwork and learning new skills from each other.
At the end of the festive period, a lavish dinner of ‘maroo bhajia, chatni, khichhdi, kadhhi and chhaas’, was offered to all who took part in the celebrations- compliments from members of Swamibapa Sports.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
