As part of the Sadbhaav Samaroh, young devotees performed a stunning Qawwali Nite on the 27th May 2011. The stage was prepared by highly talented devotees. HDH Acharya Swamishree’s gadi was delicately surrounded by all sorts of musical instruments. The participants were dressed in Qawwali uniform and set off the programme with a prayer to Lord Swaminarayan. All the kirtans were sung in Qawwali tunes; the drummers and chorus group gave a commendable support to the main singer. During the performance, HDH Acharya Swamishree played the Sitar and was the focus of attention for everyone present. The performers also got up and danced on the stage.
At the culminating stage, everyone was given balloons to fill them with air in preparation for the next day’s celebration. The temple hall was so full of balloons that there was no space to put your foot on the ground without stepping on them. HDH Acharya Swamishree maneuvered his way out of the hall as most of the other devotees remained at the temple to assist in decoration in readiness for the next day.
