On the sunny afternoon of Wednesday 13th August 2008, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree and His group of sants arrived at Bolton Temple. Hundreds of disciples had gathered in the Temple forecourt for the long-awaited divine darshan of Acharya Swamishree. Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Pipe Band, donned in their new feather bonnets, saluted Acharya Swamishree as He arrived. His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree then boarded a traditional Indian chariot, which was pulled in to the temple by disciples, led by Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Pipe Band. Acharya Swamishree performed the aarti to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, who was presiding on an ornately decorated swing (hindolo), on this, the last day of the Hindola Festival. Young dhol players then took the opportunity to please Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree by playing a rendition of rhythmic beats. |
