Lord Swaminarayan's Biography

In the Gadhada First Section, Vachanamrut 3, Lord Shree Swaminarayan states, “You should remember the various divine episodes of God and have affection for brahmacharis, sadhus, and disciples; and retain memories of them all. This is because, if the Murti of God is forgotten during your final moments, the memories of God’s divine episodes, or the memories of His disciples or the brahmacharis and sadhus, or any association that you have had with them, will remind you of God’s Murti.”

Lord Shree Swaminarayan adds, “Even a sinful soul can achieve a great status and experience immense bliss, i.e. attain God’s divine abode, if he remembers the Lord’s episodes during his last moments.”

The episodes of the merciful Lord Swaminarayan are all divine and enchanting. When He appears on the earth, He shows human characteristics as well as sometimes showing His unsurpassed prowess. All His actions are for the salvation of souls; they are all wondrous and worthy to be remembered. Through His actions and behaviours, He imparts teachings on the great virtues such as spirituality, morality, decency and compassion.

By the inspiration of Acharya Swamishree, for many years, Sadguru Shashtri Shree Sarveshwardasji Swami has been meticulously retelling Lord Swaminarayan’s biography in our monthly magazine, Shree Ghanshyam Vijay. Each month, the new article will be translated into English and reproduced here.
