The Swaminarayan philosophy insists on pure, simple living and high thinking, which inspires people to put service to society, before themselves. Therefore, Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey holds numerous medical events and campaigns to service the community and help others. These include:
Annual Blood Donation Campaigns
Each Patotsav (temple anniversary), the temple holds a blood drive where many disciples donate blood to benefit the saving of others’ lives. Disciples of the temple help organize and run the event.

Annual Adult and Youth Medical Camps
These medical camps provide disciples and community members the chance to get physical, dental, vision, and EKG check-ups as well as blood work completed at no cost. Many disciples and doctors from the Indian community volunteer their time to help out with the medical camp and make it a successful event each time. The adult medical camp takes place during Patotsav, and the youth medical camp occurs some time in the spring.

Campaigns to Encourage Organ and Tissue Donation
His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree strongly encourages organ and tissue donation, as it is a way to give the precious gift of life to someone even after one’s own death. Therefore, the temple holds Organ and Tissue Donation campaigns at each Patotsav, allowing disciples to sign up for donation of their organs.
