The Temple in Golders Green is the principal temple in the south of England of the Faith known as The Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India - the worldwide centre for spiritual, cultural and social welfare founded by The Adya Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa. The activities of the Temple are inspired by His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree who is the sovereign of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, the divine office of Lord Shree Swaminarayan. As well as being the reverential leader of many thousands of people around the world, Acharya Swamishree is acclaimed as being the "Ultimate Humanitarian" due to the charitable projects that he has undertaken. He has inspired the establishment of numerous Temples around the world. These are not only establishments for worshipping God, but are also centres for disseminating humanitarian aid and welfare, and they are educational institutes at which disciplines such as dance, music and art and sport are learned.
